Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff level DevOps Engineer to join the Privileged Access Management (PAM) team. You will help build enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Docker, and Terraform on AWS, with a focus on scalable, multi-tenant systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects, security, and operations, as well as mentoring junior developers, supporting a weekly release cycle, and contributing to FedRAMP initiatives in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required.
• 7+ years of extensive programming experience in Go, Java, or C++ especially backend services.
• 4+ years of PostgreSQL experience with design and optimization.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and building/integrating them.
• Experience with AWS, Redis, OpenSearch, Kinesis, Kafka, and Docker.
• Familiarity with Agile software development processes.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI pair-programmers to accelerate PAM product development.
• Design, develop and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects on a modern tech stack (Kubernetes/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, OpenSearch, Docker, Terraform on AWS).
• Drive evaluation, development, and rollout of microservices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize services and frameworks the team owns.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, product owners, security and operations engineers.
