Job summary

Adept of Omaha is seeking an experienced Staff Development Coordinator (LPN or RN) to educate and support our nursing team, including CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, and RNs.

This full-time role focuses on orientation, ongoing training, competency evaluations, and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

  • Current Nebraska LPN or RN license in good standing.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or memory care.
  • Ability to teach employees with different levels of experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct hands-on training and competency evaluations.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct new-employee nursing orientation.
  • Provide education and training for CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, RNs, and other clinical staff.
  • Develop and maintain annual staff education and in-service training schedules.
  • Conduct and document employee competency evaluations.
  • Provide skills training, demonstrations, and return demonstrations.
  • Monitor licenses, certifications, training, and competency deadlines.
  • Maintain education and attendance records for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide training based on resident-care concerns, incidents, audits, and performance needs.
  • Assist department leaders with corrective education and development plans.
  • Coordinate CNA and CMA training requirements.
  • Educate staff on infection prevention, resident rights, fall prevention, safe transfers, medication practices, and more.
  • Remain current on federal and Nebraska requirements affecting long-term care staff education.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
  • Support survey readiness and plans of correction when education is required.
  • Promote professional communication, teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR – LPN OR RN

Adept of Omaha is seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Staff Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for educating, training, and supporting our nursing team, including CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, and RNs.

The ideal candidate is an organized and engaging educator who understands long-term care regulations, clinical standards, and the importance of developing a knowledgeable and confident care team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR:
  • Coordinate and conduct new-employee nursing orientation.
  • Provide education and training for CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, RNs, and other clinical staff.

  • Perform other nursing and educational duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
  • Current Nebraska LPN or RN license in good standing.
  • Previous nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or memory care.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices and resident-care standards.
  • Ability to teach employees with different experience and skill levels.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct hands‑on training and competency evaluations.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal long‑term care regulations.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain electronic training records.
