Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Developer Platform team. You will own substantial pieces of the internal platform—CI/CD, AI tooling, and scalable build infrastructure—to reduce toil and ship secure software at scale.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-team collaboration, and hands-on architecture work in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment with strong emphasis on DORA metrics and reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production services and platform infrastructure in modern cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Go (Golang).
• Deep technical expertise in CI/CD systems and container-based orchestration.
• Experience contributing to technical direction across multiple teams and architectures.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI / LLM-based automation in production.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-team work.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced, ship-it culture and drive data-driven improvements.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of significant pieces of the Developer Platform—CI/CD, AI platform, and shared build infrastructure.
• Author architectural design documents and coordinate across teams for reliable, secure, scalable software.
• Improve speed and reliability of the monorepo CI/CD pipeline to speed up shipping.
• Contribute to next-gen change throughput beyond PR workflows for agent-driven changes.
• Help productionize the Agentic AI platform with observability, memory, and context-engineering patterns.
• Consolidate fragmented build systems and deliver standardized paved road blueprints.
• Automate repetitive tasks by partnering with engineers and treating internal teams as customers.
• Mentor teammates and elevate design and code review standards.
