Job summary

Chainguard seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Customer Platform to own end-to-end features, APIs, and platform primitives connecting customers and internal teams.

You will mentor engineers, design backend services in Go, and collaborate across Containers, Libraries, OS packages, and product management to ship iteratively.

Qualifications

• Production Go experience
• Shipped and operated APIs in production
• Experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams
• Ability to diagnose and propose paths forward
• Mentor engineers without a management title
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments
• Experience with AI-powered product features is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end: from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration in partnership with Product Management
• Design, build, and evolve backend Go services powering entitlement, policy, and onboarding
• Serve as primary technical interface between Customer Platform and other Chainguard teams
• Extend AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers
• Contribute to product-driven roadmap with clear outcomes and iterative shipping
