Chainguard, Inc. is seeking a Security Engineer to support engineers across IAM, AI, and Cloud. This early-career role fits someone with solid IT administration or software development foundations, eager to grow into security and learn from senior engineers.

You'll report to the Director of Cyber Resiliency and work in a fast-moving, late-stage startup. Expect hands-on work protecting cloud, AI, and identity systems with daily collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient IT administration and/or software development foundation.
• Hands-on experience in IAM, AI/ML infrastructure, or cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Operate Chainguard’s technology platforms (cloud, IAM, and AI).
• Help implement and maintain access controls, identity policies, and authentication/authorization systems.
• Support hardening and monitoring of cloud infrastructure with senior cloud architects.
• Assist in securing AI/ML pipelines and agentic workflows as they scale.
• Troubleshoot, automate, and maintain systems with strong IT or software engineering skills.
• Document processes and contribute to runbooks, playbooks, and internal knowledge sharing.
• Adapt to shifting priorities and pick up new tools as the company evolves.
• Learn and apply security best practices under senior engineers with room to specialize.
