Job summary

Snowflake is looking for a Staff Design Engineer to join the Stellar Design System team in the United States. You will embed with feature teams, shape the front-end architecture vision, and own the roadmap for a system pillar, delivering highly polished experiences and scalable design systems for AI-enabled data products.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to drive adoption across teams, stay ahead of trends, and create accessible, delightful interfaces

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and building high-quality UIs.
• Portfolio demonstrating polished, interactive designs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Strong web development skills (React JS, CSS3, JS/Typescript, NodeJS).
• Experience with structuring design systems for AI.
• Strong accessibility experience.
• Strong understanding of visual and interaction design fundamentals (layout, typography, color).

Responsibilities

• Embed with feature teams to elevate experiences.
• Set the front-end architecture vision, not just contribute to it.
• Drive adoption across teams outside your direct org.
• Own the technical roadmap for a system or component pillar.
• Design and build polished experiences, ensuring the highest level of polish, creativity, and interaction to solve complex customer problems.
• Support the design and development of Snowflake's design system, promoting quality and craft across all surfaces.
• Build design components and foundations, in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers.
• Employ a keen eye for detail to ensure a seamless and visually compelling experience.
