Job summary

Reddit is seeking a highly experienced Staff Data Scientist to drive measurement, identity, and signal quality in the Ads organization. This role carries high autonomy and strategic influence across engineering, product, and sales.

You will design identity resolution methods, own lift experiments, and define evaluation frameworks while mentoring teams and raising technical standards. A strong background in statistics, ML, and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
• For MS: 10+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
• For Ph.D.: 6+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
• Deep understanding of the ads ecosystem.
• Expertise in one of: measurement & experimentation at scale, identity graph creation & resolution, or predictive modeling with signal loss.
• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience with machine learning or optimization techniques.
• Strong knowledge of experimental design, causal inference, or A/B testing.
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills with cross-functional impact.
• Experience in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Design the Future of Ads Identity using probabilistic models for identity resolution.
• Advance lift methodologies and experimentation with scalable infrastructure.
• Maximize signal for predictive performance and improve bidding efficiency/ROAS.
• Define ground truth and evaluation frameworks for model training and measurement.
• Lead through cross-functional influence, mentoring, and best practices across modeling and experimentation.
