Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - Data to lead the Real-Time Analytics Platform (RTAP) at PlayStation scale. You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems powering real-time analytics and data-driven applications, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Data Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python; Scala experience beneficial.
• Experience with Flink or Spark streaming.
• Experience with ClickHouse / Druid OLAP databases.
• Experience with AWS MSK / Kafka.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to automate engineering workflows.
• Strong systems design and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems powering real-time analytics.
• Lead the architecture and evolution of RTAP, improving scalability and reliability.
• Own platform capabilities end-to-end from architecture to production operations.
• Build and optimize distributed data services using Flink, Spark Streaming, ClickHouse, and Druid.
• Mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions across teams.
