Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Data to propel PlayStation's Real-Time Analytics Platform (RTAP). You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems powering real-time analytics and data-driven experiences across PlayStation.

You'll lead architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Data, Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Platform teams to evolve scalable data platforms, apply AI/ML to automate workflows, and drive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years building large-scale distributed systems with real-time data processing.
Strong Python proficiency; Scala knowledge is a plus.
Experience with Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, or similar.
Experience with ClickHouse or Apache Druid for OLAP workloads.
Experience with event-driven data pipelines using Kafka or AWS MSK.
Experience applying AI/ML techniques to automate workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems for real-time analytics.
Lead architecture and evolution of RTAP stream processing and analytics platforms.
Own platform capabilities end-to-end from design to production operations.
Build and optimize data services using Flink, Spark, ClickHouse, Druid.
Collaborate with Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Platform teams.
Mentor engineers, review architectures, and raise technical bar.
Investigate production issues, lead incident response, and improve reliability.
Evaluate emerging technologies and guide investments for scalability and cost efficiency.
