Job summary

Scale is building world‑class data platforms and systems to power AI at scale in New York and across locations. You will lead the architecture and delivery of core data storage, streaming, caching, and indexing platforms, partnering with stakeholders to refine requirements and raise engineering standards.

You will mentor teams, collaborate with cross‑functional groups, and drive improvements to tooling and deployment practices while shaping the future of data infrastructure at Scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full‑time engineering experience, post‑graduation, with back‑end focus on large‑scale data storage, streaming, and warehousing.
• Experience with MongoDB, Postgres, Kinesis, Flink, Spark, and data query engines.
• Ability to mentor and lead teams on successful projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration to translate technical concepts for stakeholders.
• Experience with containerization and cloud deployments (Kubernetes, public clouds).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture, design, and reliability of foundational data platforms and systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and deliver new features.
• Proactively improve programming practices, tooling, and processes.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders with guidance on development.
• Provide technical leadership, uphold engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
