Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design and development of core data storage, streaming, caching, and indexing platforms. You will work with stakeholders to understand and refine requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and raise engineering standards across the organization. You will collaborate across teams on new features and performance improvements, with exposure to AI data pipelines and cloud

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-time engineering experience in backend systems for large-scale data storage, streaming, and warehousing.
• Extensive experience with MongoDB, Postgres, streaming/processing tools (Kinesis, Flink, Spark).
• Strong in indexing/caching (ElasticSearch, Redis) and data query engines (Trino, Presto, Snowflake).
• Proven mentoring and team leadership in complex projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, able to translate tech to non-tech stakeholders.
• Experience with containerization and cloud deployments (Kubernetes, public clouds).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and reliability of core data platforms and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features.
• Drive improvements to development practices and tooling.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, guiding decisions.
