Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to set the technical direction for reliable, scalable data infrastructure and to shape the roadmap for production data products.

You will design and operate ingestion pipelines, data models, and services for usage, cost, ownership, and planning, while leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring engineers. AI is leveraged to accelerate data transformations and improve quality across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Significant experience designing, building, and operating production data systems at scale.
• Strong Python and SQL with tested, maintainable production code.
• Deep experience with ingestion, ETL, data modeling, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience designing data interfaces and contracts with data quality improvements.
• Track record leading complex technical work across teams.
• Ability to influence via technical judgment and mentor engineers.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in workflows.
• High integrity and ownership regarding sensitive data.

Responsibilities
