Pinterest is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to improve the quality and velocity of data science. You will shape the future of the people-facing and business-facing products we build by creating rock-solid data foundations and tooling, and by leading a high-performance team that partners closely with our Core Data Science organization.

As part of the role, you will use AI to accelerate analysis, prototype pipelines, and automate repeatable documentation while maintaining rigorous verification.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in SQL and a scripting language (Python or R).
• Experience with ETL/ELT and large data sets.
• Proven analytics solutions delivery and cross-functional partnering.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics engineers and mentor a diverse team.
• Develop instrumentation, experimentation practices for product teams.
• Build AI tools and pipelines to provide scalable insights.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to enable self-service datasets.
• Document tools/datasets and drive data quality and democratization.
