Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build data systems powering infrastructure usage and cost insights. You’ll lead design and hands-on delivery of pipelines, models, and services for budgeting workflows across teams.

In this individual-contributor role, you’ll shape technical direction, mentor peers, and scale data products with AI-enabled capabilities to improve accuracy, speed, and self-serve insights while protecting sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience designing and operating production data systems at scale.
• Strong Python and SQL, with tested, maintainable production code.
• Experience with ingestion, ETL, data modeling, and workflow orchestration.
• Ability to lead cross-team technical work and mentor engineers.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate ingestion and transformation pipelines and data models.
• Own data contracts, quality checks, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem framing to rollout and adoption.
• Leverage AI to scale data insights and automate workflows.
