Job summary

Flywheel Energy, LLC is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design and build scalable data infrastructure for upstream operations. You will create data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and enable reliable analytics across the business.

As a staff-level leader, you will mentor engineers, collaborate with analytics and operations teams, ensure data quality, governance, and disaster recovery readiness, and drive cloud-based solutions that scale with company growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of data engineering experience with scalable pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and API integration.
• Experience with major cloud data warehouses/data lakes and ETL/ELT tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for upstream data.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
• Architect data integration between source systems and data warehouse/lake.
• Demonstrate expertise in data modeling and scalable data architectures.
• Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and operations to translate requirements.
• Establish data quality, validation, and governance standards.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize systems.
• Lead capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain documentation for data architectures and processes.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and best practices; mentor engineers.
