Palmetto Clean Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer who will own the technical design of Palmetto's data platform. You will govern data across the customer journey and build a secure, auditable path for data use by products, partners, and AI agents.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, with leadership on a platform used by multiple teams.
• Strong SQL and Python expertise.
• Deep analytics warehouse experience (Snowflake/BigQuery) including schema design.
• Proficiency with dbt and data transformation frameworks.
• ETL orchestration experience (Airflow, Fivetran).
• Infrastructure as code and container orchestration on AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Clear written and verbal communication with non-technical partners.
• Knowledge of API design, authentication (OAuth/OIDC), and PII handling.
• Looker/Hex reporting knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model the business by building data products delivering trustworthy data for analysts, engineers, product teams, partners, and AI tools.
• Shape semantic context, documentation, and interfaces so agents answer from governed definitions.
• Build and run pipelines with CI/CD, observability, alerting, and SLAs.
• Design secure data access paths for products, partners, and agents to consume data.
• Mentor teammates, review code, and provide templates and CI checks to ship trusted data.
