Job summary
Palmetto is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a team responsible for making data usable across product, finance, operations, and AI agents. You will guide architecture, data governance, and secure access paths, while remaining hands-on to influence design and code.

Qualifications
- 10+ years in software or data engineering
- 5+ years managing engineers
- Data architecture depth: warehouse, modeling, governance
- Hands-on in a modern warehouse and transformation framework
- Fluency in back-end language (Python) to review
- Experience with AI data provisioning for consumers
- Experience evaluating vendors and contracts
- Ability to deliver data platform projects across teams
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the data engineering team
- Set roadmap aligned with company objectives and deliver cross‑team projects
- Own data architecture for ingestion, modeling, governance
- Ensure reliable pipelines with SLAs and audit trails
- Oversee secure APIs and access control paths
- Build governance for AI data consumers
- Manage data platform vendors and budgets
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and product teams
