Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead data-driven projects and platform initiatives, owning end-to-end delivery. You will architect scalable data and AI platforms, guiding teams and collaborating with senior leadership to transform customer feedback into actionable insights.

You’ll develop next-generation VoC solutions, including GenAI-powered agents, and leverage LLMs, RAG, and semantic search to drive intelligent automation and improved customer experiences across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years' software engineering experience.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
• Option 3: Master’s degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
• 3 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business problems and deliver scalable data, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to deliver measurable business impact.
• Architect and build scalable data and AI platform solutions for large-scale structured and unstructured customer feedback datasets.
• Partner with Product, Ecommerce, Operations, and business teams to generate actionable insights and improve customer experience outcomes.
• Design and develop AI-powered VoC solutions, including GenAI and Agentic AI workflows that enable proactive insights, intelligent recommendations, and automated decision support.
• Build and operationalize intelligent agents leveraging LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and enterprise knowledge systems to enhance customer and business intelligence capabilities.
