Job summary

Xometry, a leading on-demand manufacturing platform, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to shape data architecture and pipelines. You will own the data plane for the DFM AI + IQE integration with Teamcenter and Designcenter, build scalable batch and streaming pipelines, and drive governance, observability, and performance across data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering with ownership of large-scale data systems.
• Deep expertise with cloud data warehouses—Snowflake strongly preferred.—including optimization and performance tuning
• Expert-level SQL and strong Python; comfortable with additional languages
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets using modern tooling (dbt, Airbyte, Airflow)
• Experience planning and implementing enterprise data architecture across multiple systems and domains
• Working knowledge of Kafka, Spark, Kinesis for batch/stream processing
• Experience writing database-heavy services and APIs with testability in mind
• Strong CI/CD, testing, contract testing, and schema-evolution practices for data pipelines
• AWS data ecosystem and cloud-native infrastructure knowledge
• Enterprise/partner integration experience (PLM/ERP) or Teamcenter exposure is a plus
• Familiarity with Looker/Streamlit for data visualization
• Data governance, quality frameworks, and observability tooling experience
• Exposure to data mesh or lakehouse architectures
• IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Event-driven architecture and CDC pipelines with low-latency data flows
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or marketplace contexts is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead with technical depth and design enterprise-scale data architectures across multiple systems.
• Own the partner integration data plane for DFM AI + IQE integration with Teamcenter and Designcenter.
• Build scalable batch and streaming pipelines and data models for real-time data flows.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle from acquisition to delivery, observability, and performance.
• Define and enforce data modeling, CI/CD, testing, and schema-evolution standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, analytics, and ML teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews to raise team capability.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, platforms, and architectural patterns.
