Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Staff-level Data Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of our data platform in a remote, AI-native environment. You will build the data warehouse, ingestion pipelines, and analytics foundations enabling self-service analytics across engineering, product, and business teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and raise the bar for data reliability, quality, and governance while leveraging modern tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, and dbt

Qualifications

• Senior hands-on data platform experience across production environments.
• Greenfield data platform design and implementation from scratch.
• Strong SQL and Python with solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficient with modern data stacks (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, Databricks).
• Deep knowledge of data quality, observability, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own our internal data warehouse, ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT, and core data models.
• Design datasets and interfaces for AI agents to safely discover and use.
• Transform fragmented data into reliable sources of truth for analytics.
• Build self-service analytics infrastructure for cross-team use.
• Establish event tracking, instrumentation, and reporting foundations for product analytics.
• Automate data operations using AI agents to accelerate pipelines and validation.
• Implement data quality, observability, and governance at scale.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards through hands-on leadership.
