Job summary

Headway is building a modern mental healthcare platform in New York. We’re hiring an experienced Staff-level Infrastructure Engineer to own the cloud platform, drive scalable deployments, and build self-serve tooling across the team. You’ll shape architecture, guardrails, and cost controls while enabling engineers to movefast and safely.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure or SRE roles with production traffic.
• Deep AWS expertise including ECS, EKS, RDS, networking, IAM.
• Terraform and self-serve platform design experience.
• Autoscaling, capacity engineering, and container orchestration with ECS/EKS.
• Staff-level influence and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment architecture and blast-radius containment.
• Lead autoscaling and capacity engineering with data-driven methods.
• Build a self-serve infrastructure platform with guardrails.
• Establish per-team cost attribution and cloud cost controls.
• Maintain Python runtime health and upgrade frameworks as needed.
