Job summary

ModMed in Boca Raton, FL seeks a Staff Cloud Engineer to own and scale our AWS cloud infrastructure, leading one domain—Data Streaming, Database Architecture, or AWS Applications Development—and set standards for secure, scalable deployments.

You will mentor engineers, build reusable IaC with Terraform/Ansible, implement observability with DataDog, and ensure SOC2/HIPAA compliance while controlling costs. This role requires 3 days in the Boca Raton office.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Cloud Engineering/SRE or similar in large-scale AWS environments.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route53) or equivalent.
• Expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure, scalable cloud infra with guardrails for dev teams.
• Architect data streaming, databases, and AWS app development leadership.
• Develop observability and reusable IaC modules (Terraform/Ansible).
• Mentor engineers and ensure SOC2/HIPAA compliance while managing costs.
