Job summary

ModMed in Boca Raton, FL seeks a Staff Cloud Engineer to drive scalable cloud architecture across Data Streaming, Databases, and AWS app development. You will lead event-driven design, secure deployments, and cost-conscious, compliant cloud strategies while mentoring engineers.

This role requires in-office presence in Boca Raton, 3 days per week. You will architect, build, and operate high-throughput cloud systems, champion best practices, and guide teams toward microservices on Kubernetes, with

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in cloud engineering, SRE, or similar roles with large-scale AWS experience.
• Extensive AWS services experience (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route53) and cloud-native tooling.
• Deep Kubernetes experience at scale and strong IaC practice with Terraform/Helm.
• Ability to mentor teammates and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead standardized, secure, scalable cloud infrastructure design and guardrails.
• Own streaming, database, and AWS app development domains with best practices.
• Implement observability with DataDog and reusable IaC modules (Terraform/Ansible).
• Ensure AWS security, SOC2/HIPAA compliance, and cost-effective operations.
