International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead Cloud, Network & Automation within Corporate IT. You will set architecture standards, define secure, scalable patterns, and partner with Identity and SaaS pillars while guiding IBM’s cloud strategy across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

You will mentor engineers, drive durable automation platforms, and own runbooks, incident response, and audit readiness across FedRAMP/SOC2+ contexts.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of experience in systems/cloud/infrastructure or platform engineering with a track record of setting technical direction.
• Hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud (AWS preferred) and working across AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience designing Terraform modules and pipelines at scale with PR-based controls and automation tools.
• Solid experience with VPN, ZTNA, SASE technologies and network access patterns.
• Ability to design maintainable automation and run orchestration/CI behind it.
• Knowledge of Vault or similar secrets platforms and workload identity federation.
• Experience operating Kubernetes (GKE preferred), managed databases, DNS, TLS, and observability.
• Strong incident management, security operations, and compliance support for frameworks.
• Experience leading multi-quarter, cross-team initiatives and mentoring across time zones.

Aufgaben

• Set architecture and engineering standards for cloud, network, and automation within Corporate IT.
• Lead target-state architecture, security posture, and cross-cloud integration with IBM.
• Own reference patterns and delivery pipelines for infrastructure changes and GitOps.
• Define patterns for secrets, machine identity, and workload identity federation.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and establish on-call and runbook practices.
