Job summary

Confluent, an IBM Company, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead Cloud, Network & Automation within Corporate IT. You will set architecture standards for cloud environments, network access, secrets, and automation pipelines that engineers depend on.

This role requires跨国 collaboration and a focus on durable, audit-ready controls. You will partner with Identity, Trust & Security, and Infrastructure teams; influence roadmap and risk decisions without formal authority, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Staff-level technical leadership with 10+ years in systems, cloud, infrastructure, security, or platform engineering.
• Deep cloud architecture expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP with account/project structures, networking, and hardening.
• Strong IaC and GitOps experience designing modules and pipelines at scale (Terraform, Atlantis, Argo, Semaphore).
• Solid experience with VPN/ZTNA/SASE technologies, routing, DNS, and FedRAMP environments.
• Ability to design maintainable, tested automation in Python/Go/shell and run orchestration/CI platforms behind it.

Responsibilities

• Set architecture and engineering standards for cloud environments, network access, secrets, and automation platforms.
• Define patterns for secrets management and workload identity across clouds and CI/CD.
• Own or guide operational patterns for DNS, load balancers, Kubernetes, and logging/monitoring.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through rollout and handoff to IBM integration partners.
• Mentor engineers across time zones and establish on-call, incident response, and runbook standards.
