Intertek in Tukwila, WA is seeking a Staff (Civil/ Geotechnical) Engineer - Construction to perform geotechnical field investigations, logging soils borings, percolation tests, and soil strength testing, while supporting project teams.

The role includes preparing cost estimates, conducting engineering analyses under supervision, reviewing plans, attending client meetings, and overseeing field and lab testing.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/ Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge in civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written form.
• Ability to periodically work off shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 with assistance.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
• May travel overnight occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support in geotechnical field investigations, including logging of soils borings, percolation testing, and soil strength testing.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals.
• Perform engineering analysis under the guidance of a professional engineer.
• Review project plans and specifications prepared by others.
• Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams.
• Perform testing and inspection tasks in the field and laboratory regularly.
• Operate testing equipment, conduct testing, and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests.
• Work on one or multiple projects at a time.
• May manage projects, train and oversee technicians, and review field and lab data.
