Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/ Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge in civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written form.
• Ability to periodically work off shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 with assistance.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
• May travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in geotechnical field investigations, including logging of soils borings, percolation testing, and soil strength testing.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals.
• Perform engineering analysis under the guidance of a professional engineer.
• Review project plans and specifications prepared by others.
• Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams.
• Perform testing and inspection tasks in the field and laboratory regularly.
• Operate testing equipment, conduct testing, and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests.
• Work on one or multiple projects at a time.
• May manage projects, train and oversee technicians, and review field and lab data.
