Job summary

Intertek USA is seeking a Staff (Civil/Geotechnical) Engineer - Construction in Tukwila, WA. The role supports geotechnical investigations, field testing, and project oversight within the Intertek-PSI team. The position involves day-time hours with some nights/weekends as needed.

The successful candidate will have a BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, strong soil mechanics knowledge, and the ability to lift 30–50 lb. Travel and overtime are possible; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge in civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written form.
• Willingness to work off shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds frequently; over 50 with assistance.
• Ability to kneel, squat, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical field investigations, including logging soils borings and percolation testing.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals.
• Perform engineering analysis under supervision.
• Review project plans and specifications.
• Attend client site meetings and communicate with clients and project teams.
• Conduct field and laboratory testing and report data interpretations.
• May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and tests; may travel.
