Job summary

Intertek USA seeks a Geotechnical Special Inspector in Tukwila, WA, to conduct jobsite inspections and materials testing across transportation and heavy civil projects. You will work under Intertek-PSI in the Seattle area, applying field observations, test methods and plan interpretation to ensure quality control.

Requirements include 5+ years of geotechnical field experience, a valid driver's license, and strong MS Office skills, with excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of geotechnical inspection, QA/QC on heavy civil projects.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Proficiency in basic math, calculator, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observations and inspection duties under supervision.
• Use drawings, specifications and diagrams to guide work.
• Observe site activities and perform tasks using specified methods.
• Read and interpret plans and specs.
• Maintain and calibrate standard equipment.
• Document results with detailed observations and data.
• Train/supervise and perform complex assignments as needed.
• Attend project meetings independently.
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
