Snap Inc. seeks a Staff Backend Engineer to design, implement, and operate our most critical scalable services, including identity and persistence layers.

You will work across teams to translate product needs into robust, secure systems and apply best practices for reliability and cost management. You’ll lead medium-sized features, collaborate with peers, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining architectural integrity.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 9+ years of post-bachelor software development; or 8+ with Master; or 5+ with PhD.
• 1+ year of technical leadership or domain-expert experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and operating highly-available services.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and operate our most critical scalable services (identity, friend graph, persistence).
• Collaborate across teams to translate product requirements into solutions.
• Test, debug, and ensure code quality, availability, and security.
• Advocate for best practices in availability, scalability, and cost management.
• Leverage AI tools while maintaining architectural integrity and security.
