Snap Inc. is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design, implement, and operate our most critical services, including identity, friend graph, and core persistence.

You will work across teams to translate product requirements into robust, scalable solutions and will advocate for high availability and cost efficiency. You will apply best practices for security and production readiness, leverage AI tooling to accelerate development, and contribute to incident response and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 9+ years of post-Bachelor software development experience; or 8+ years with a Master’s; or 5+ years with a PhD.
• 1+ years of technical leadership or domain expert experience.
• Experience with distributed systems.
