Job summary

SentinelOne is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer for the Agent Platform to secure millions of devices across Windows, Linux, and macOS and process billions of security events daily. You will own critical platform capabilities, drive cross-team reliability, and shape architecture for scalable, observable systems.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in backend engineering with Java/Go/Python, plus cloud and container experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with Java, Go, or Python; willingness to work across all three.
• Reliability-first mindset with proven ability to solve complex production incidents and implement durable solutions.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar distributed systems and troubleshoot cross-service failures.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with resilience and operational excellence.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP) and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with messaging and data platforms like Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, ClickHouse.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership to drive outcomes in a team.
• Enterprise SaaS or cybersecurity exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Relay rapid response to customer-critical incidents by diagnosing and resolving issues across multiple services.
• Lead root-cause analysis and translate learnings into durable reliability and scalability improvements.
• Develop and operate large-scale, high-volume distributed systems processing millions of events per second.
• Maintain data integrity and system stability by monitoring metrics and improving visibility.
• Collaborate across teams to influence technical direction and deliver scalable solutions.
• Continuously evaluate technologies to improve platform reliability and operability.
