Job summary

Unity Technologies in San Francisco seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead Offer Delivery, the backend service powering real-time bidding and direct offer placement at scale. You will establish the technical vision, architect the system, and drive delivery with cross-functional teams.

You will own performance, reliability, and monetization outcomes, mentoring engineers and shaping OpenRTB and DSP integrations while collaborating across Ads and platform teams to evolve Unity’s monetization

Qualifications

Owns a significant backend system and sets direction.
Designs large-scale, latency-sensitive distributed services.
Proficient in Go; knowledge of gRPC.

Responsibilities

Architect & Design: Lead the technical design and architecture for Offer Delivery services, features, and critical strategic initiatives, collaborating closely with senior engineers and managers.
Develop & Innovate: Build, test, and operate the Golang services that power real-time bidding into video auctions (OpenRTB) and direct offer placement outside the auction flow.
Raise the Bar: Mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and foster a culture of technical excellence on the team.
Drive Cross-team Delivery: Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with product, Ad Viewer, teams in a distributed environment.
Operate & Maintain: Ensure the high availability and reliability of our production services, including participation in on-call rotations and proactive system monitoring.
