Job summary

Unity is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for Offerwall in San Francisco to lead the backend responsible for real-time bidding and offer placement. You will shape architecture, guide engineers, and ensure scalable, low-latency services powering monetization for millions of users.

You will collaborate with auction, ML, platform and product teams to deliver robust backend solutions, implement OpenRTB and related protocols, and uphold system reliability and observability across services.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a backend system and delivering through others.
• Design and ship large-scale, latency-sensitive services with complex logic.
• Proficiency in Go and gRPC; familiarity with real-time bidding systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design Offer Delivery services and core initiatives.
• Build, test, and operate real-time bidding (OpenRTB) and direct offer placement services in Go.
• Mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and drive cross-team delivery.
• Maintain high availability and reliability of production services, including on-call rotations.
