Job summary

Unity Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer on the Feature Platform to design and operate scalable data pipelines powering ads optimization and ML across Unity's global platform. You will own end-to-end offline data flows, collaborate with ML, backend and product teams, and help build a durable, high‑quality infrastructure for offline training and online feature serving.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Java, SQL.
• Experience with Spark or Flink in batch and streaming modes.
• Understanding offline data systems with online serving layers — feature stores and low-latency APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes and workflow orchestration.
• Ownership mindset — focused on correctness, observability, and maintainability.
• Go is a plus for collaboration on high-throughput services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and curated feature datasets powering ads optimization and ML.
• Own end-to-end offline data flows from raw event ingestion to feature-ready datasets with strong emphasis on correctness and SLA compliance.
• Develop and maintain large-scale batch and streaming systems (Python/Java/SQL) with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Build and contribute to the Feature Store platform, including integration with the high-throughput online serving layer (Go-based services).
• Translate product and monetization logic into well-engineered, extensible systems for analytics and ML use cases.
• Drive improvements in observability, testing frameworks, and quality standards across the platform.
• Lead architectural decisions and engineering best practices within the Feature Platform team.
