Job summary

Unity in Mountain View is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement distributed, high-throughput data systems for near real-time reporting. You will own attribution pipelines and a suite of streaming services at scale, integrating with data warehouses, ML, and reporting teams.

You will modernize legacy event handling to a gRPC-based service, optimize low-latency data paths, and contribute to an evolving cloud-native ad-serving platform with Docker/Kubernetes in production.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in distributed systems and systems design.
• Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale data processing systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala with cloud-native infra knowledge.
• Experience with streaming concepts, exactly-once semantics and backpressure.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end attribution pipeline and core telemetry for ad signals.
• Build real-time ad event processing and streaming pipelines at scale.
• Lead architectural modernization with a greenfield, grpc-based service.
• Improve low-latency data services and caching/persistence layers.
• Build and maintain ad-serving infra including negative targeting and blocks.
