You will own the backend platform powering Everand's discovery, personalization, and reading experiences, enabling rapid experimentation and scalable architectures. You will collaborate across search, recommendations, web and mobile, mentor engineers, and guide the technical direction while driving reliability and performance across platforms.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in backend engineering and distributed systems.
• Proficient in Ruby (preferred) or Scala/Go/Python.
• Strong focus on reliability, observability, and defining SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the Everand backend and translate product intent into design.
• Own backend reliability, staging, CI/CD, databases, queues, cost, and observability.
• Review PRs, mentor teammates, and raise engineering quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver backend systems supporting experimentation.
• Champion user-first mindset and reduce technical debt.
