Job summary

DoorDash, Inc. is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to lead backend work across product and platform teams. You will own and evolve the backend services, define architecture, and mentor peers while collaborating cross-functionally to maximize business impact.

You will work on a hybrid schedule, tackle large-scale systems, and drive improvements in performance and security. You will influence technical roadmaps and guide end-to-end delivery of critical features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry experience in backend engineering.
• Experience with service oriented architecture and REST APIs.
• Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST).

Responsibilities

• Develop, release and run large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and tech stack for a product area.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security of backend systems.
• Transition monolith to microservices architecture.
• Solve bleeding-edge technical problems to disrupt logistics.
