Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own and scale backend systems across Product and Product Platform teams. Hybrid role with some in-office time, reporting to an Engineering Manager.

You will develop, release and run large-scale web applications while shaping architecture and product infrastructure. Candidates should have 5+ years of backend experience, strong REST API and SOA skills, and comfort with SQL/NoSQL databases and AI coding tools.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with backend tech stacks.
• Experience with REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release and run large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and tech stack for a product area.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security of backend systems.
• Transition monolithic codebase to microservices.
• Own projects end-to-end and mentor junior peers.
