Job summary

Leap Tools is hiring a senior backend/data-engineering leader to own the architecture of ETL and data processing systems that ingest thousands of customer catalogs. You will design scalable, high-throughput pipelines, optimize performance, and ensure reliability across distributed systems while mentoring engineers and shaping the technical direction.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience designing and operating ETL pipelines or data-intensive systems
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts
• Experience with performance profiling and tuning
• Experience with large datasets and data transformations
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, networks, and databases
• Ability to influence and mentor senior engineers and lead cross-team initiatives

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture and evolution of ETL and data processing systems ingesting customer catalogs
• Design scalable systems for large, variable datasets across thousands of customers
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks to improve throughput and latency
• Design distributed processing systems with fault tolerance and idempotency
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical direction
• Mentor senior engineers and conduct architecture reviews
• Champion engineering excellence and maintainability of backend systems
• Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple teams
• Shape long-term technical vision and culture of the engineering org
