The role emphasizes AWS deployment, PostgreSQL optimization, and AI-enabled tooling to accelerate delivery while preserving code quality. A strong collaboration mindset and startup agility are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production-ready systems.
• Proficiency in Python and modern API frameworks such as FastAPI or similar.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and secure backend services.
• Expertise with PostgreSQL including schema design, indexing, and query tuning.
• Hands-on AWS deployment, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and building fault-tolerant systems.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and leverage AI coding tools.
• Interest in AI and machine learning integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and REST APIs.
• Own features from conception through deployment and monitoring.
• Model, evolve, and optimize PostgreSQL data layer with indexing and tuning.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and internal services with reliability and proper error handling.
• Write automated tests, participate in code reviews to uphold quality.
• Deploy and operate services in AWS, using CI/CD and observability practices.
• Collaborate with product teams, frontend developers, and engineers to deliver features quickly.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot to accelerate development.
• Maintain proactive troubleshooting and incident response.
