Job summary

Leadout Capital is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and maintain production-grade services across Python, Go, and Java. You will work with AWS, Snowflake, and data tooling to deliver scalable data products and AI-enabled workflows.

You will contribute to RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, and a secure, observable platform, while mentoring others and guiding API and system design decisions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years designing, building, and maintaining production backend services at scale.
• Expert-level Python / Go / Java for server-side development with WSGI/ASGI knowledge.
• REST and/or gRPC API design with streaming patterns and versioning.
• SQL and data modeling across Snowflake, DynamoDB, and warehousing stores.
• Cloud/infra: AWS fundamentals, Terraform, CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing, and debugging live systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Python/Go/Java to support Data Platform.
• Architect and maintain abstraction layers for data domain customers via utilities.
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform across AWS accounts.
• Develop AI/LLM capabilities: RAG pipelines, tool-calling, and agent frameworks.
• Integrate model providers with LLM Gateway, streaming responses, and auditable outputs.
• Set up eval harnesses, guardrails, and tracing for performance and cost control.
• Drive data-platform automation: dbt services, MWAA/Airflow orchestration, and tooling.
• Enhance the platform CLI and shared utilities for data teams.
• Enforce identity, security, and multi-tenant isolation with OAuth/OIDC and IAM.
