Job summary

Addepto is seeking a Senior Backend / Data Engineer to join a senior engineering team on a greenfield data platform. You will build end-to-end data ingestion, processing, and REST APIs using Python and Django, ensuring data quality, reliability, and production readiness.

You will work with cloud data warehouses, include Snowflake/Databricks, and collaborate on multiple projects for automotive data, aerospace, and telecom verticals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial experience in Backend/Data Engineering or production data systems.
• Strong Python and Django experience with REST APIs.
• Experience building data ingestion/ETL or ELT pipelines from file-based and API sources.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms or warehouses (Snowflake/Databricks).
• Experience with a major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiar with Airflow or similar workflow tools.
• Knowledge of data validation and data quality design, error handling, and CI/CD in production.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data ingestion pipelines for file-based and API sources using Python.
• Build and maintain backend components for data processing, validation, and integration.
• Design and develop REST APIs using Python and Django.
• Implement robust data quality, validation, and error handling mechanisms.
• Design and maintain data models and work with cloud data platforms and warehouses.
• Develop and maintain automated data quality tests.
• Work with cloud services and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and environment configuration.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Write and maintain technical docs and runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools in delivery.
