CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer – Fulfillment to lead and contribute as a hands-on engineer in a high-energy, cloud-native environment. You will architect scalable services, drive best practices in SDLC, and collaborate with product, architecture, and data science teams to deliver data-driven health care platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise/web/cloud apps.
• 5+ years of backend development with Java/Spring Boot/Kafka.
• 3+ years of distributed caching experience.
• 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure); GCP preferred.
• 3+ years building microservices in cloud-native environments.
• 3+ years of technical lead experience in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable cloud-native services using Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply secure coding, automated testing, and design patterns across the SDLC.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and resolve data consistency issues.
• Collaborate with product/architecture to define roadmaps and KPIs.
• Enforce resiliency patterns (circuit breakers, retries, rate limiting).
• Build real-time streaming data pipelines with Kafka/CDC for analytics and ML.
• Deliver cost-optimized, scalable solutions with cloud cost profiling.
• Own reliability and lifecycle of platforms, including production support.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards.
