Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer – Fulfillment to lead and contribute as both a technical lead and individual contributor. Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development in enterprise/web/cloud apps.
• 5+ years backend development with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka.
• 3+ years distributed caching experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable cloud-native services using Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply advanced software engineering practices across the full SDLC (DDD, design patterns, secure coding, automated testing).
• Troubleshoot and lead resolution of complex distributed system issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to define long-term roadmaps and KPIs.
• Design microservice resiliency patterns and enforce them across service integrations.
• Build and optimize real-time streaming data pipelines leveraging Kafka and related technologies.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver cost-optimized, scalable cloud solutions.
• Own reliability, performance, and lifecycle of platforms including production support and modernization.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and promote engineering standards.
• Lead risk assessments, architectural reviews, and engineering audits with security/regulatory alignment.
