CVS Health Digital seeks a Staff Software Development Engineer – Fulfillment to act as technical lead and IC, building our next‑gen platform. You’ll architect scalable cloud‑native services and guide decisions with product teams to deliver data products that improve health outcomes for millions.

Expect focus on DevOps, CI/CD, microservice resiliency, and real‑time streaming (Kafka). You’ll mentor others, own reliability, and help modernize systems with security and regulatory compliance in mind.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development in enterprise / web / cloud apps.
• 5+ years backend development with Java/Spring Boot/Kafka.
• 3+ years distributed caching experience.
• 3+ years cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure; GCP preferred).
• 3+ years building microservices in cloud native environments.
• 3+ years technical leadership in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable, cloud-native services using Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Apply advanced software engineering practices across the SDLC including DDD, design patterns, secure coding, automated tests.
• Troubleshoot and lead resolution of complex distributed system issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and business teams to define roadmaps and KPI-driven outcomes.
• Design and enforce microservice resiliency patterns (circuit breakers, retries, rate limiting).
• Build real-time data pipelines using event streaming (Kafka) to analytics/ML systems.
