Job summary

LVT (LiveView Technologies) seeks a Staff Backend Software Engineer to own the design, performance, and scaling of core backend services from Seattle. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and deliver resilient cloud-based APIs powering our next‑gen intelligent site technology.

Based in Seattle on a hybrid schedule, you will collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to translate complex business requirements into robust software, driving growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience centered on backend systems, cloud services, and API development.
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with Node.js and TypeScript services.
• Experience with OpenAPI/REST API design and GraphQL queries/mutations.
• Familiarity with NestJS and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL; ability to optimize queries.
• Proven mentorship and ability to influence engineering culture in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive backend architecture, technical direction, and design standards across production services.
• Deliver high-velocity, scalable Node.js/TypeScript backend systems and APIs.
• Mentor engineers and elevate development standards and reliability.
• Improve CI/CD, tooling, and development workflows for faster delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to translate requirements into specs and timelines.
• Resolve complex edge cases and maintain system uptime and resilience.
• Lead initiatives to adopt emerging technologies and cloud/API frameworks.
