Job summary

LiveView Technologies (LVT) is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for our American Fork, UT headquarters. You will build scalable microservices and APIs in Node.js and TypeScript, partnering with product, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-performance backend systems.

You will mentor engineers, uphold strong testing, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while embracing modern cloud architectures and containerized workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience shipping production-grade microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs (OpenAPI) and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with modern server frameworks and containerized workflows (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Proficiency with relational databases (SQL) and schema design.
• Strong problem-solving skills in evolving requirements.
• Commitment to code quality and thorough testing, with collaboration in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship scalable backend features and APIs.
• Optimize backend performance, latency, and query efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to translate requirements into specs and releases.
• Maintain high code quality through unit/integration testing and code reviews.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to fellow engineers.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and tooling.
• Stay current with cloud architecture and backend patterns to keep systems cutting-edge.
