Job summary
Axion Ray Inc. is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to lead our agile backend teams in New York. You will design and build scalable agentic systems and data-processing workflows transforming complex customer data into structured outputs.
You’ll shape API architecture, cloud infrastructure, and LLM-powered systems while improving reliability, observability, and performance. Mentoring and cross-team collaboration are core to this role.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized applications.
- Experience designing distributed, scalable systems and data-processing services.
- Experience with GCP and Datadog.
Responsibilities
- Lead backend engineering teams in an agile, fast-moving environment.
- Design and evolve scalable AI-powered backend systems and data workflows.
- Own reliability, deployment, observability and production support for cloud-native services.
- Mentor engineers and drive cross-team technical initiatives from architecture to production.
- Partner with product and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into solutions.
