Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer (AI) to shape and scale the core CI infrastructure behind our platform. You will drive AI integration into CI/CD workflows, set standards for AI agent portfolio, and ensure reliability at enterprise scale.

You’ll work on Instrumentation, performance improvements, and secure, maintainable Rails code while collaborating with Product, UX, and Infrastructure teams to raise the bar for responsible AI in CI.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails in a large codebase.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and data modeling capabilities.
• Experience building AI-powered backend features with production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Shape and scale the CI backend infrastructure for high-volume workloads.
• Design and implement AI-powered features for Agentic CI and Duo Platform integration.
• Define success metrics and baseline measurements for AI in CI.
• Build instrumentation and observability for trustworthy AI-driven CI in production.
• Lead cross-functional technical work with Product, UX, and Infra teams.
• Write secure, well-tested Ruby on Rails code and reduce technical debt.
