Job summary

Anthropic is seeking experienced backend and distributed systems engineers to join the Agentic Systems team. You will own end-to-end platform components, from API design to operations, with a focus on scalable, fault-tolerant sessions and multi-tenant hosting on Claude platform.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will collaborate with research, product, and developer experience teams to deliver robust agent harnesses and developer tooling for customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Scale the platform: design and operate durable sessions, sandbox orchestration, streaming, scheduling, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Evolve the harness: build eval infrastructure and ensure harness quality relative to research baselines and workloads.
• Help builders get the most out of Claude: deliver capabilities for outcomes, multi-agent orchestration, memory, and observability.
• Design APIs that outlast implementations: versioning, ergonomics across API/SDK/CLI, sensible defaults.
